The Oak

Live thy Life,
Young and old,
Like yon oak,
Bright in spring,
Living gold;

Summer-rich
Then; and then
Autumn-changed
Soberer-hued

Alfred Lord Tennyson
1809-1892

What a beautiful tree, as though from The Hobbit. Lovely poem to match.

The tree is in a garden by an old castle.(Boller Castle in Church and Manor) I have been told it is 800 years old, but I'm not sure if this is true!

I'm absolutely loving your choice of poems and the paintings that you put to go with them.
Thankyou.
